Mini Monday's

What's the plan?

Join us on Monday nights from 21:00 GMT for a quick  10 minute qualifying session, before we host a race around 30 minutes on a variety of tracks

What car?

This is a spec build one make series for Pre 1966 Mini Cooper S cars build as close to the specifications of Appendix K (FIA Pre 66 historic rules)

How will it work and why should I build a mini?

This series requires the Mini Cooper S built to the pre 66 toruing car regs, please see the build part of the forum

Assists?

STM, TCS and assisted steering and braking will be forced off, we hope though people will get in the spirit and race with as many assist off as possible as these cars would be in period.

I'd like to join?

Please provide your gamer tag, and car number. I'll add you to the list. I'll send a friend request so that we can invite you to the game private lobby.

I have set up a discord, quickly reading a dummies guide to it.

Tuning my Mini?

Please note gears should be tuned to keep the original cars 4 speed however you may adjust the final drive to make those 4 gears suit the tracks. No race front anti roll bars may be installed.

I have found with the mini a stiff rear roll bar, softer front spring and stiffer rear springs with increased front camber is a good starting point to decrease the under steer.

Painting my Mini?

Keep paint schemes in keeping with pre 66 cars, I've posted photos through the thread to give you an idea. Please post a picture of your entered car here and I'll add it to your entry.

I really hope a few people will join in on this fun and challenging little car and hopefully gives an interesting alternative to the normal racing we see online.

Official Builds / MG A Twin Cam Pre 63 GT
« Last post by Retro on January 10, 2024, 06:30:17 am »
The little MG A was a popular late fifties sports car that took the mantle from the MG TF of the early fifties.

This car quickly found itself racing all around the world, but most prominently in the UK and USA.

The MG was more affordable that a lot of its on track competition and the engines despite lacking power offered plenty of potential.

The quickest engine was the twincam however it was ultimately very unreliable and most where replaced for the original pushrod or later mg b engine.

The build here closely mirrors thatbof current fia MG A twincams races in fifties and pre 63 events.

Austin Healey 3000

Here we have the big Healey as it is affectionately known.

Popular for its performances and capabilities against high value cars like the db4, e type and 25p ferrari. These cars have been well developed over the years to be regular front runners and run in the under 3000cc class where they often lack any other competition.

The cars have a big following thanks to their sideways antics and multiple stand alone one make racesvare held around the world.
